Adaferin gel is usually prescribed medication for the treatment of acne, pimples and to promote quick healing of pimples. The Adaferin gel is branded name of Adapalene. This medication belongs to a class of the third generation of retinoid. It is similar to vitamin A and helps the skin to recover. Adaferin gel improves the appearance of skin. Adaferin gel (Adapalene) 0.1% w/v is used to control severe acne in individual who are at least 12 years old. It decreases inflammation and swelling of the affected area.

What are the contraindications of Adaferin gel?

  • This medication should not be used in the case of allergic to Adapalene.
  • You should not use this medication if you are liver and kidney disorder patient.
  • Do not use this medication if you have bleeding or blood clotting disorders, stomach ulcers or ulcerative colitis.

You should use this medication two times in a day in morning and evening to treat acne.  Wash your hands and the skin area using a soap and water. You should dry your skin with a cotton cloth and wait for 10 to 15 minutes. Use your fingertips to apply this medication. Take sufficient amount of gel and rub on the affected area.

While using this medication some common side effects may appear such as itching, redness, irritation, numbness, peeling off, stinging of the skin, blister formation or crusting of the skin, scaling of the skin, rashes, burning sensation on the area applied area.

  • You should not cover the affected area after applying this medication.
  • You should not use this medication to other parts of the body as it is topical preparation.
  • Use of Adaferin may make your skin more prone to the sunburn so don’t go out in sun unnecessarily and avoid artificial UV rays (tanning beds, sunlamps).
