Aziderm cream is a topical preparation that is used for the treatment of severe acne. It contains Azelaic Acid as an active constituent. This medication is also used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation (Melasma) due to its skin brightening properties. Inflammation caused by Rosacea is also treated by Aziderm cream. Azelaic acid can also be used in the treatment of hair loss in case of both men and women. Azelaic acid belongs to a class of medications called Dicarboxylic acids. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of cellular protein in anaerobic and aerobic bacteria, especially Staphylococcus epidermis, and Propionibacterium acnes.

What are the contraindications of Aziderm cream?

  • Do not use this medication if you are allergic to any ingredient of Aziderm cream.
  • Do not use this medication if you recently had any surgery on the affected area.
  • Do not use this medication for any other skin disease without consulting a doctor.

What other medication that should not be used along with Aziderm cream?

You should not use following medication along with this medication such as Demeclocycline, Doxycycline, Fleroxacin, Fluphenazine, Gemifloxacin, Hydrochlorothiazide, Indapamide, Levofloxacin, Bendroflumethiazide, Chlorothiazide, Chlorpromazine, Chlorthalidone, Ciprofloxacin, Cyclopenthiazide.

Aziderm cream is recommended to be used 2 times in a day; to use this cream wash your hands before and after the use by using soap and water. You should dry your skin with a cotton cloth and wait for 10 to 15 minutes. Use clean fingertips to use this medication. Take sufficient amount of cream and rub on the affected area.

Peeling off, stinging of the skin, itching, redness, irritation, numbness, blister formation or crusting of the skin, scaling of the skin, rashes, burning sensation on the area applied area.

  • Do not cover the affected area after applying this medication.
  • This medication is not allowed to be used in pregnant and breastfeeding ladies as it can cause harmful effects.
  • This medication should not be used to the other parts of the body.
