Retino AC gel is a combination of Clindamycin and Tretinoin that is commonly used for the treatment of acne. The reason of Acne disorder is abnormal desquamation of follicular epithelium that causes obstruction of the pilosebaceous canal. Overgrowth of Propionibacterium acnes causes inflamed skin. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A. It decreases the extent of oil released by oil glands in the skin, and manages to renew itself more rapidly. Clindamycin is an antibiotic.  It works by inhibiting the growth the bacteria that causes acne.

What are the contraindications of Retino AC gel?

  • Do not use this medication if you have inflammation in your intestines also called enteritis.
  • Do not use this medication if you are suffering from Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis. 
  • You should not use this medication if you have ever had severe diarrhea caused by antibiotic medicine.
  • Do not use this medication if you are allergic to the ingredient of Retino AC gel.

What are the drug interactions of Retino AC gel?

  • You should not use this medication along with vitamins, herbal preparations, and dietary supplements.
  • Do not use any other while using Retino AC gel without consulting a doctor.

You are recommended usually once daily at bedtime. You should Wash your hands before applying this medication. Wash your hand and affected area then dry. Use your finger to use this medication. Take required amount of medication and gently rub on the surface.

You may face some common side effects while using this medication such as mild itching, stinging, or dryness of treated skin, temporary lightening or darkening of the treated skin, stuffy nose, sore throat, and cough.

  • You should not use t this medication in your eyes, mouth, or nose.
  • You should not apply to the inner lip area or inside the nose/mouth.
  • You should not apply to cut, scraped, sunburned, or eczema-affected skin.
