How to use Eutropin?

Eutropin is an injection and commercially available in two strengths are 4 IU and 15 IU. For Adult Human Growth Hormone Deficiency, a person has to use 0.2 mg subcutaneously once a day. Adult Dose for Cachexia, a person has to use 0.1 mg/kg of body weight subcutaneously once a day at bedtime. Adult Dose for Short Bowel Syndrome, a patient has to use 0.1 mg/kg subcutaneously once a day for 4 weeks. For Growth hormone deficiency in children, a pediatric patient has to use 0.024 to 0.034 mg/kg subcutaneously once a day for up to 6 to 7 times a week.

How to store Eutropin?

It should be kept at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Don't keep in the refrigerator unless the packaging or storage instructions clearly require you to do that. Keep it away from children and pets.

A patient can experience some undesired effects while using this medicine such as severe pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting, increased heartbeat, frequent urination, enhanced thirst, dry mouth, vision change, swelling of your head, face, hands, or feet, and numbness or tingling in the wrist, hand, or fingers.

  • You are advised not to drink alcohol while using this medicine otherwise it may irritate your stomach.
  • If you have a thyroid problem, diabetes, or kidney problems, then consult your doctor before using it.
  • If you are planning to become pregnant or a breastfeeding mother then avoid using this medicine.
  • If you have diabetes, this drug may increase your blood sugar levels, so must check your blood sugar level at a regular interval.
